INTRODUCTION
Hi! We are Ellen and Kate, the Founders and Co-Executive Directors of Peace of Mind At Home.
We are so glad you are here! We want to share who we are and how we started our nonprofit.
Ellen’s mom had breast cancer in 2009 and Ellen quickly realized how difficult simple tasks were for her mom during that hard period. She also watched her dad struggle to try and take on all of the responsibilities as well as give her mom the best care possible. It truly took a village that stepped in and helped her family and she wanted to create a piece of that village for families in need.
Kate recently owned a professional organizing company called Peace of Mind Foothills that helped clients by organizing their home spaces by doing laundry, tidying and other tasks to make the client’s lives easier. We had the idea to take this same business approach and offer it to cancer patients and their caregivers at no cost to them.
Thus, Peace of Mind At Home was born.
